The 2012 Los Angeles International Auto Show kicks off in just under a week's time, with MSN Cars detailing the standout vehicles to look forward to.
Running between November 30th and December 9th at the Los Angeles Convention Centre, drivers will have the chance to get up close and personal with a collection of the finest vehicles to hit the road in the next year or so.
For example, luxury German car maker Mercedes-Benz will be on the show floor presenting the SLS AMG Black Series.
MSN Cars states that "Mercedes' Black Series label should strike fear into the heart of even the most hardened of oversteer enthusiasts", with the SLS AMG model presenting an engine that can deliver 631hp and go from 0-62mph in an astounding 3.6 seconds.
Alongside the latest Black Series car will be the Mercedes-Benz Ener-G-Force concept vehicle – a futuristic highway patrol motor that is powered through a combination of roof-mounted water tanks and a hydrogen fuel cell.
Electric vehicles are definitely growing in popularity, and this is set to be highlighted at the 2012 LA Auto Show.
BMW is set to lift the cover off the full-electric i4, which is rumoured to have a sleeker design than its predecessor, the i3, and manage to hit 62mph from rest in around six seconds.
Elsewhere, the Chevrolet Spark electric vehicle is the American car maker's opportunity to display a vehicle that is able to deliver 114hp and a range of 81 miles on a single electric motor.
While change is welcome in any industry, drivers are also waiting to feast their eyes on the latest model of a well-loved brand. The 2012 LA Auto Show is set to deliver this by the shedload.
Stroll around the show floor of this convention and motorists will soon come across the Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet, a soft-top car that packs in highly-efficient BlueMotion technology and set to be the ideal choice of vehicle for summertime cruises.
