SKODA Octavia shortlisted for 'Car of the Year'

The prestigious 'Car of the Year' awards have started to see the nominations revealed, with the SKODA Octavia making it to the shortlist of seven finalists.

Test drives to determine the overall winner will be conducted in February, with the final awards set to be given in March 2014 at the International Motor Show in Geneva.

According to the manufacturer, the latest Octavia is the most advanced model ever and has provided saloon and Combi models, which both boast excellent space and functionality, in addition to safety and top levels of comfort.

Chief executive officer of Skoda Professor Winfried Vahland said the brand is "very pleased" the judges voted for the Octavia to be part of the final selection.

“The Octavia is the heart of our brand, and the entire ŠKODA team has been working hard on this latest generation. To have made it into the final is a great honour for us,” he said.

A panel of 58 motoring journalists from 22 European countries will put their votes forward and judging criteria will consider the innovation, quality, design and value for money the final seven cars offer.
