Mercedes-Benz has lifted the lid on its latest addition to the family – the new CLA class.
The stylish four-door coupe is a revelation in car design and streamlined aerodynamics, continuing a standard of innovation set by the CLS.
It is indeed a wonder to look at, with three prominent lines on the side of the car providing it with a refined look that is loyal to the history of Mercedes while offering something novel.
One of the immediate standout points of the new model is its radar-based breaking system, which allows for a precise response as soon as the driver's foot hits the pedal; the multinational German car manufacturer was keen to state.
"The response to the Concept Style Coupé was overwhelming," commented Dr Dieter Zetsche, chairman of the board of management at Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars. "The most frequent comment by far was 'please put this car into series production.' That's precisely what we are doing now."
Leaning towards a sportier disposition, the CLA comes with a high-torque turbo engine, rated up to 211 horsepower. This punch is reflected in the interior aesthetic, which is defined by the integral fitted seats in both the front and rear.
