Kia preparing to release new sports car

Kia has been making huge strides in recent years and has fast become one of the most popular brands in the vehicle market.

Now the manufacturer is looking to take the next big step, as it reveals plans to unveil a brand new sports car at the Detroit Motor Show in 2014.

The January event will host the cream of the motoring world and will unveil some of the most unique designs and concepts that could hit forecourts and showrooms in coming years.

Kia is hoping the new concept sports car will be just one of these head-turning models. According to Kia, the 2+2 sports car will provide an incredible driving experience whether behind the wheel on road or track.

The design has been thought up by the brand's California-based team at Irvine and Kia has released an early image of how the car will look.

A sleek silhouette can be seen, with a chunky-looking rear-end and a most svelte figure towards the front.

In an electric yellow outline, detailed on top of a black backdrop, even without the full image the car looks set to be something quite special.

Put it in your calendar - January 13th is where Kia will up its game.
