In the very first Car of the Year Award at the annual Gadget Awards from T3 magazine, the Audi A8 luxury saloon was able to beat its competitors to claim the title of most technologically-savvy vehicle.
The accolade recognises the vehicle's utilisation of modern features, with Gadget Awards describing the model as "an outstanding example of innovation and design."
Held at a ceremony in London, the awards praised a number of other technologies in the world of computing, mobile devices, photography, audio and visual entertainment.
A panel of nine technology journalists and 500,000 votes on T3's website determined the winners of the awards, with the A8 praised for its adaptive air suspension system, Audi connect technology and internet-based services. Furthermore, the in-car entertainment systems are "unrivalled" in the eyes of the judges.
One thing in particular that was singled out was the vehicle's MatrixBeam headlights and dynamic indicators. These will be included as standard on future generation A8 models, and the 25 individual LEDs were commended for their ability to be switched on and off or dimmed individually.
Audi A8 technology also means predictive route data provided by the navigation systems helps to adjust light distribution based on the driving situation.
